Franklin man arrested after attempting to use fake money at Taco Bell

Christopher Pennella, 24, was arrested Monday and charged with two counts of forgery and two counts of theft by deception.

Franklin Police said that around 10 p.m. on Dec. 5, Pennella purchased food and beverage using counterfeit money, unbeknownst to employees.

Around 8 p.m. on Dec. 8, an employee contacted Franklin Police to report that a patron was attempting to use counterfeit currency. A police investigation resulted in the arrest of Pennella.

Pennella obtained the counterfeit money from an unknown person and the investigation is ongoing.
